Proposal

What is being suggested

A solid mobile work table would give members a shared surface for assembly, layout, repair, and temporary project work. Locking casters would let the table move where it is needed and then stay stable while in use.

Benefits

Why it could help

The Shed gets more useful work surface without permanently committing floor space to one location, and the build itself is a practical member project.

Questions

Things to decide

  • What dimensions give us useful surface area without making the table difficult to move?
  • What caster size and locking arrangement will stay stable on the workshop floor?
  • Should the lower section be open for material storage or fitted with a shelf?

A lower shelf would be useful as long as we keep enough clearance to sweep underneath. We should measure the narrowest spot it needs to pass through before settling on width.

Agreed on measuring first. I can sketch a couple of sizes and we can compare them at the next Shed morning before buying casters.
