Proposal
What is being suggested
The Shed could settle on one or two durable planter designs that are straightforward to build in small batches when a local organization has a suitable need.
Benefits
Why it could help
A repeatable design would make estimating materials and volunteer time easier while still leaving room to size or finish planters for a specific location.
Questions
Things to decide
- Which lumber and finish will hold up best outdoors without making the build too expensive?
- Should we develop both a standard planter and an accessible raised version?
- Where could a first set be useful enough to test the design?
I like the idea of keeping the design repeatable. If we build one prototype first, we can work out the material list and any awkward steps before taking on several.
